A selection of projects we've delivered across mining, infrastructure, manufacturing and data centres in Western Australia.
Practical electrical and control systems work — from drive configurations and substation automation to full SCADA upgrades and data centre control systems.
Mining · Drive configuration and remote commissioning
Client: Mayfields Industries
For the Roy Hill Ultrafine 1.5 MCC project, ElcoTech delivered configuration and commissioning support for a large bank of variable speed drives feeding a mining processing plant. The scope covered both AC and DC drive families across critical loads.
All testing and commissioning work was completed remotely where possible, with PLC and HMI programming used to drive interface verification before each drive went live on site.
Configuration and parameterisation of 63 low-voltage Schneider Electric variable speed drives across the MCC.
Configuration of seven Siemens SINAMICS DCM DC converter units for high-current direct-drive loads.
Drive testing and remote commissioning, reducing site mobilisation cost and accelerating handover.
PLC and HMI programming for drives interface testing, ensuring each drive integrated cleanly with the supervisory control layer.
Infrastructure · Substation automation and SCADA integration
Client: Salini / Malayer Engineering Services
ElcoTech provided substation automation and SCADA integration work for the Public Transport Authority's ForrestLink Airport Link Project — a major rail infrastructure project linking Perth Airport to the metropolitan network.
The scope focused on protocol-bridging legacy serial devices and modern IP-based SCADA, programming and testing ProSoft Gateway hardware to convert DNP3 and Modbus Serial communications into the supervisory control environment.
Configuration of ProSoft gateways to bridge DNP3 and Modbus Serial field protocols into the rail SCADA system.
Mapping of substation field data into the SCADA tag database, alarms and operator displays.
End-to-end testing and on-site commissioning of the substation automation interface.
Manufacturing · PLC code development and commissioning
Client: Jason Windows
ElcoTech delivered PLC code development and on-site commissioning for Jason Windows, supporting their manufacturing automation requirements with reliable, well-documented PLC programs aligned with their existing maintenance team's capabilities.
Structured, maintainable PLC programs aligned with the existing site standards and equipment.
Site commissioning, sequence checks and operator hand-over for manufacturing process equipment.
Data Centre / Commercial · SCADA upgrade and ongoing operation support
Client: Pier DC Data Centre
ElcoTech delivered electrical and control systems engineering for the Pier DC data centre facility, including a full SCADA upgrade, database and reporting infrastructure, and ongoing operational support to keep the site running predictably.
The engagement covered both new system delivery and remediation of legacy systems — improving the facility's control architecture, drawing standards and supportability for the long term.
Engineering support across the facility's electrical distribution and control systems infrastructure.
Migration and re-architecture of the SCADA platform to a current, supportable system.
SQL database setup, historical data capture and automated reporting for facility KPIs.
Remote and on-site operation support to keep the SCADA and control layer running reliably day-to-day.
Incremental improvements to control logic, alarms and operator interface based on operational learnings.
Audit and re-issue of as-built documentation, schematics and operator manuals for long-term supportability.
Each industry has its own requirements and standards — we tailor our delivery to suit.
