Control Panels & Switchboards

Custom switchboards, motor control centres and remote I/O panels — designed, built and FAT-tested to AS/NZS 61439 by a licensed Western Australian electrical contractor.

AS/NZS 61439 Panels Built In-House for Western Australia

ElcoTech designs and manufactures industrial control panels, switchboards, motor control centres and remote I/O cabinets to AS/NZS 61439 — the Australian / New Zealand standard for low-voltage switchgear and controlgear assemblies. As a licensed Western Australian electrical contractor (EC14565), every panel leaves our workshop electrically safe, properly labelled, fully tested and ready for site.

Whether the job is a single instrument cabinet for a remote pump station or a multi-tier MCC for a mineral processing plant, we treat each build as a small project: design review, bill of materials, in-house manufacture, point-to-point test, FAT and documented handover.

Panel Types We Build

Workshop builds covering the full spectrum of industrial switchgear, control and instrument cabinetry.

Motor Control Centres

Multi-tier MCCs with DOL, soft-start and VSD feeders, including communication, metering and protection sub-systems.

Main & Sub Switchboards

Form-segregated switchboards built to your single-line, with circuit protection, metering and SCADA tie-in where required.

PLC & Control Panels

Free-standing or wall-mount PLC cabinets housing the controller, I/O, network switches, UPS and HMI for a process area or skid.

Remote I/O (RIO) Panels

Field-mounted RIO panels for distributed instrumentation — EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, Modbus TCP or EtherCAT back to the main controller.

Instrument & Marshalling Cabinets

Junction boxes, marshalling cabinets and instrument racks with terminal blocks, surge protection and intrinsic safety barriers where applicable.

Hazardous Area Panels

Ex-rated panels and certified components for hazardous area installations, designed to the applicable AS/NZS 60079 series.

What We Deliver

Panel work goes well beyond bending copper. Each build runs through the same disciplined cycle: functional spec, single-line review, schematics and panel layout in AutoCAD Electrical, BOM and cable schedule, in-house manufacture with genuine OEM components, point-to-point testing, FAT against the spec, permanent engraved labelling, electrical compliance certification and a documented handover pack.

Our engineers bring direct experience designing and building panels for major mining, processing and infrastructure projects across Western Australia — MCCs and switchboards for iron ore handling and lithium plants, PLC and RIO panels for water utilities and substation marshalling enclosures for power networks. That track record shapes how we lay out copper, route cable and label devices: so the panel makes sense at install, during commissioning, and a decade later when an apprentice with a multimeter is troubleshooting at 2 a.m.

We build around equipment we know — Rittal, Schneider, ABB, NHP, Phoenix Contact, Rockwell, Siemens, Beckhoff and similar — with standardised internal layouts and labelling conventions that make maintenance and modification straightforward, even years after handover.

Design & Schematics

Functional spec, single-line, schematics, GA, BOM and cable schedule drafted in AutoCAD Electrical. Issued for review before any procurement.

Procure & Build

Genuine OEM components, neat copper bar work, ferruled terminations and standardised layouts your maintenance team can read at a glance.

Test & FAT

Insulation resistance, continuity, point-to-point, functional testing and customer FAT with signed-off test records before dispatch.

Document & Label

Permanent engraved labelling, internal device tagging, warning signage, as-built drawing pack and an electrical compliance certificate.

Deliver & Install

Coordinated delivery to site, mechanical install, termination of field cabling and integration into the wider plant.

Site Commission

Loop checks, dynamic testing, calibration and operator handover by the same team that built the panel — no information loss in the relay.

Industries We Serve

ElcoTech builds panels for mining and minerals processing, power and energy, water and wastewater, infrastructure, manufacturing, commercial buildings and agriculture across Perth, the Pilbara, the Wheatbelt and the South West. Each sector has its own conventions — equipment preferences, labelling standards, document deliverables — and we work to yours, not ours.
